The Frame House

...since 1969

Hello, I am Cynthia, and thank you for visiting this site!

Created by Larry Blumenthal in 1969, The Frame House has had only three owners. Originally it was located on Montgomery Avenue here in Elkins Park.  In 1990 Larry passed it down to his apprentice Karen Shain Schloss who grew the business into The Frame House and Calligraphics.  In January of 2000, having apprenticed with Karen, I bought The Frame House, and we moved to our location on High School Road.  My goal was to expand The Frame House even further and include a small gallery space for local artists.  Many artists, like myself, have put their art  work “on the back burner” for one reason or another, and it was my wish to bring their art work forward again. The Frame House continues to showcase local artists with monthly art exhibits and will soon expand to include a retail artisan gift shop.   I create framing solutions for the complicated and intricate as well as for the small and simple, from antique collectibles, to children's creations, photographs, diplomas, and memorabilia.  Please drop by for your next framing project, or just to sit and enjoy the ever changing artwork.

See you soon....Cynthia
